Around this time last year, I had to temporarily close my Hub (LightWorks) when my MakerBot Replicator (1st Gen) officially died. Now I’ve upgraded to the new MakerBot Replicator+ and would like to redo my quality test by reprinting lil’ Marvin. Shouldn’t the initial quality test be automatically re-invoked with each new machine added to your hub? If not, how can have my score redone?

I don’t think there is a way to redo it. You basically need to get more sales and positive reviews to raise your rating.

I asked the people in the Amsterdam office once.

There is only one way to trigger a new marvin test and that is to close down the hub and create a new one.

you would loose everything and start from scratch.

Given that you use a brandname printer and not a self build one i would not worry that much.

If you are in doubt you can always print a marvin and post pictures here on the forum. If you want to really push it you can search for “advanced marvin” on thingiverse.

But yes i do somewhat agree with you that for each new printer they should do the test. Just to make sure things are not totally bonkers

I’m currently printing some “stress test” prints to help showcase the new machines capabilities and am going to replace my older photos. Hopefully this post will make it to some of the devs and maybe push an update that requires reevaluation of any new machines.

Hey @TraisMcAllister, @Boelle and @keebie81, the easiest way to do this would be to print out a Marvin on your new printer and attach photos of it to your very first Marvin review. This will trigger our team to review your new and improved Marvin.

@TraisMcAllister, @asad3d and @keebie81could an option also be to send pictures in an email along with slicer settings and maybe get recommended changes before doing the final print to be reviewed?

@Boelle, we don’t really do recommendations on printer settings to pass the Marvin review because ultimately that would defeat the purpose of the review  I would suggest playing around with the slicer settings on a couple of test prints before submitting your final Marvin.
