Hello all,
So i bought a Qidi tech 1 printer the other day an it has these issues:
1) it makes a grinding sound from the x axis motor
2) it does not go home before a print or when i go to the “home” button on menu
3) the Axis motor will extrude filament but it will not move when printing.
It ran well for a few prints then the x axis motor started making a weird noise. So i unplugged the motor cord and plugged it back in and the noise stopped but the “home” and the motor not moving problems still exist.
Does anyone know how to fix these issues?

Probably the cable for the X stepper. Swap it for the Y axis one and see if the issue changes. This is common so probably will need a new cable. If the printer is new is probably came with a spare cable. Also contact QIDI support, they are very good.
I am having the same issues with my qidi tech. I went to print my first part and the x axis was not moving at all, I had to assist it by gently pushing left/right however when I stopped it would freeze up and I would just hear grinding.
i have not tried the new cable but it looks I have an extra and will contact support as well. If you find that the new cable works please respond back

Yes, try the cable and do contact support. I heard they are providing new cables or other solution. They have always been very helpful.
