this regularly happens, as well as on occasion it seems the extruder stops pushing out filament and winds up printing with air inches about a 25% completed item. I built this machine from the prusa i3 zrib kit from electronicgeeks.ca
I’ve done some reading but not sure which direction to follow for troubleshooting. I will email the company tomorrow, but trying to see if i can sort it out without having to go through hoops to get some answers from them.
I’ve read this can be caused by a loose wire (I’ve re-seated all the cables and they all ‘seem’ to be in good (new) shape, also read that it has something to do with current (how do i change a current setting in Marlin i3?) as well as it relating to firmware settings (I’ve reset the machine to defaults twice now and slowed down the slicer settings a number of times).
As you can see it shifts but the print also goes stringy. This is a brand new kit and i followed the given calibration settings, yet after a month and half a kg of filament (and 300 kg of headaches), I’ve yet to get 1 completed print…
I will say this forum helped with the initial issue, I didn’t think I’d need gluestick, but i did and that got the first layers to stick on this heated bed machine.
Any suggestions?
