Hey!

First of all, I’m completely new to 3d printers, I wanted to buy an assembled one (like the da vinci mini) but since the Prusa I3 builds are a lot cheaper and I’m willing to build one myself (I have been building pc’s for all my life so I have the patience haha).

So I’ve found a complete Prusa I3 package on ebay for 185 euro’s:

http://www.ebay.de/itm/2016-DIY-Verbesserte-Voll-Qualitat-High-Precision-Reprap-Prusa-i3-3D-Drucker-/152267458344?hash=item2373d90728:g:EDsAAOSwvFZW61R9

My question is: Is this complete? Do I need anything else? Because it seems very very cheap so I don’t know if I need anything else. And is building one a lot of trouble?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Dylias, I’m not sure what the machine is you’ve linked to, but it sure as heck isn’t an original Prusa i3, not even the Plus. It’ll be a cheap clone, hence the price. That doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t be an OK printer, but it’s a risk you take.

The official Prusa i3 kit is, apparently, very well designed and easy to put together with clear instructions that (from the sound of things) you shouldn’t have any problems with. Since the eBay one isn’t an official kit, the design and instructions could be of absolutely any quality.

If you’re new to 3D printing and you want to avoid disappointment, get a known brand from the original supplier. If you’re happy to take risks (and for €185, it may be a risk worth taking) then buy the eBay one…

Thanks! How do you know if it’s an original one?

This should answer that question.
