Hello Guys!

Hope you’re all doing fine

I’m having an issue with my printer for months now , it does happen frequently .

My issue is whenever i try to heat the extruder a sound comes out of the printer and i find in repetier host software : Err: HeaterError Error:Printer stopped due to errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart!. (Temperature is reset. Set it before restarting). This issue is annoying me alot and i can’t keep on with my work !!

I’m using ColiDo M2020 with Marlin , Cura for slicing and sometimes slic3r , my os is mac OSX El Capitan Version 10.11.1

Please Help ASAP!

Best Regards !

it happens repeatedly how often i keep on restarting my machine :frowning:

Check Resistance on the Extruder Heater, Might be a short in the wire to heater connection.

Thanks for your reply , but im new with these technical stuff .

How can i check that ?

You will need a ohm meter or a multimeter. A cheap one from harbor freight or radio shack will be ok.

Pull the Bed heat plug out of the control board. Use one meter probe on each wire (at the same time). There should be a moderately high number on the meter. A Zero indication tells you you have a short, that is BAD. An infinite high number is a broken connection (same as the meter reads with the probes hanging in the air), This is BAD.

While you are measuring, wiggle the wires around, this will show you erratic readings if the wire is broken in the middle somewhere.

Note: Some meters (Digital ones) will read a non number for a short or open. The paperwork with the meter will tell you what to look for. Analog meters will go full across on an Open (broken connection) and down to the left end of the scale on a short.

Hope this is not confusing for you, I started doing Electronics about 40 years ago.

Thanks for your reply sir !

i’ll try to check it thanks for the help

any other Possibilities this is happening
