Hi all, having real issues with warping and prints lifting on my FF Finder.
Im trying to print a part with raft measuring roughly 50 x 90 mm and i’m having problems with areas of the print lifting around 20mm in to the print.
First image is the side of the raft lifting without any adhesive applied to the bed
The second image is with hairspray on the bed. This print lasted a little longer. It is lifting on the right hand corner.
I have had this sheet of build tak on since i got the printer and it has done around 20 prints, I have also used UHU glue to try and get things to stick and cleaned the buildtak with fairy liquid and water.
There are marks on the buildtak from previous prints from where the first pre extrusion layers have been layed.
What am I doing wrong? The FF finder leveling sensor is saying the bed is all level.
What is the material, what are the temps you are using?
PLA and 215 Degrees. Not got a heated bed.
You could try some blue painters tape on the bed. I have tried and seems to do ok. Hairspray is going to take a long time to dry. On my heated bed I still let it run at temp for 30 minutes before using.
I would say slow down the first layer and maybe thicker or a little closer with the bed for better squish. I am sure many will be here with more experienced advice.
I will add that moving the model 30mm to the right on the X axis and -20mm on the Y in the slicer software and setting the temp to 220 has changed everything. The print has stuck to the bed like glue and required a little bit of force to pop it off.
Im unsure whether the cause is the central area of the bed being dirty and needing cleaning or if the build tak is knackered in the middle from the other prints.
If nothing works, I had very good experience with a normal gluestick. If you use a strong one like the Pritt powerglue you will only need a thin layer.
I used glue stick before. I feel that it dried and has damaged the buildtak. I’ve not cleaned it with anything other then fairy liquid, could I have damaged the buildtak in the centre. If I print on the edge of the bed it sticks like glue.

Hi there! I would suggest you to try blue painters tape, it works for me on my printers wich are without heated bed. I would not recommend you hair spray becouse it can be real strugle to get bigger model from the bed,i usualy break the model.you must know that plastic shrink when cooling, cooling is even faster when you dont have heated bed.one suggestion is also to turn off colling fan and possibly built some kind on enclosure so you can maintain temperature of printing area. It is a lot of tries and fails,i hope you will figure this out.have a great day! Sebastian
Sounds like that area is worn. I tend to move parts around on my bed also to prolong before I have to clean the glass and redo the hair spray.
I’ve tried printing with blue tape stuck on top of the buildtak, it sticks to the tape but still warps and lifts the tape off the buildtak.
