Hi

Just brought PrintBite for my Printrbot Simple Metal. Any tips on setting up Printrbot?

Use windex to clean the printbite.
Make sure it is the kind with ammonia in it.

Also you sometimes need the heated bed just a little bit hotter then normal with printbite.

Hi, so a heated bed is required for PrintBite ?
I thought it would be an interesting alternative to heated bed, since it can sticks ABS for exemple.

I haven’t tried my printbite without the bed heated.

But I believe a heated bed is required.

My prints will not come up when it is heated, and as soon as the bed cools down the print literally falls off without needing to do anything.

Well if you try, I’ll be glad to hear your feedback ! =)

Thanks for feedback.

I’m not using a heated bed.

I’m using PLA. At the moment I’m trying to get the correct height.

So, it is not a good idea to use alcohol solution to clean printbite?

As far as I know brintbite only works with a heated bed.

I use it myself and its awesome, but when cold nothing really sticks to it.

Nothing sticks without heat.
You need a heated bed on your printer to use printbite, otherwise you are gonna be sadly disappointed.

That’s good to know thanks ! Oddly, this information cannot be clearly found on their website.

To clean it they recommend a window cleaner like Windex, or acetone.

Did you managed to print on “cold” bed ?

Printbite should have made this more clear that a heated bed is require.

Hi

Sorry for the long delay in updating this thread.

For me the PrintBite worked on the Printrbot simple metal without a heated bed.

I had to increase the temperature of the PLA to 210 degree. In some cases when printing at 0.1 mm I use a thin layer of

pritt stick glue, which help with adhesive.

I’ll keep experimenting with different PLA & lower adhesive.
