I have calibrated it, but something is still wrong, If I print one of the samples on the SD card it prints fine in the middle of the bed, but if I print my own STL or print one of the examples in the file meu, it prints on the right side of the bed in fresh air…

Has anyone had the same problem? Anyone has a clue about what it could be?
Many thanks

Offset or some other dimension in the slicer is probably not set correctly.

The Makerbot clones (which the CTC is one of) are using a home point (0,0,0) at the center of the Build Plate instead of the lower left. Most slicers don’t take care of this. What slicer are you using?

For example in Slic3r inside the printer settings you can adjust the Bed shape and you need to set the Origin to X105 Y75

Thank you for your help @bardiir and @wirlybird. Im totally new to this whole thing, how do I change the slicer settings?

What slicer?

Hey there, I use skeiforge 50.
I figured it out I needed to offset the head (or the bed?) in ‘Machine=>Onboard preferences=> homing/VREF’ by X150mm Y75mm

Sounds good. Yup, offset at half the width and depth of the bed.

It should probably be X205 or X215 depending on the printbed you have. Most are either 210 or 230mm wide. I don’t know of any that are 300mm wide, which would cause big prints to then print into air on the left side probably.

Haven’t you considered to change the thread which holds the nozzle to a longer one? Another way could be adding an hexagonal nut in between the nozzle and the thermostat box, if there’s enough length. Hope it helps, cheers!

My bed is 150x230mm, if I set the offset to the half of these values the head is still well closer to the right side of the bed. X150 Y75 offset puts the head right the middle. Thank you for your help guys @wirlybird and @baldiir

Seems odd but I guess if it works just leave it at those values then

If it is working then great! Could be something in the firmware settings for the bed size are off or in the slicer maybe?

Probably good to go though as long as it doesn’t cause any other issues!
