Hi everyone, I was assembling my 3D printer, I connected all the cables and when I plugged in the power plug it turned on for an instant and POP! I heard this sound coming from the power supply, now it seems dead, do you have any idea on what caused it and how to resolve this issue?
It’s a sunwor S-300-12.
Thank you in advance for your replies.

Hi @Ospi94 does the power supply have a dual voltage setting? If so, does it match your household voltage supply?
A pop and a dead power supply could either mean simply a blown fuse, which should be relatively easy to replace, or a more serious failure in the PSU itself, which will probably require a complete replacement. But check your power supply to the machine before replacing anything or it could just happen again. As always with anything electrical, if you’re not sure what you’re doing, hire a professional electrician.
Hopefully only a fuse but a good pop could be a cap and that is bad! If it is not the fuse then replace it. Much cheaper than risking it since other components could now be weak also.
If it is a fuse look for any scorching around that area or other areas to indicate additional damage. And keep a close eye on it for smells or overheating.
Just because the fuse blew doesn’t mean it isn’t damaged! Just be careful with it!
