I am having trouble getting my printer to print. I Had started printing a new object and walked away but when I came back hours later the printer said it was finished but nothing had printed and some filament had come out the side instead of the nozzle. I unscrewed the fan in front of the nozzle and cleared out the extra filament since I figured it was blocked. Then I re-screwed the fan back in place and went to print again and still nothing would print! So I tried unloading the filament and loading again and it still wont work. The object I was printing was a duplicate of something I had printed at the same temps before so I don’t think that would be the problem? Also I started getting an error saying “printer timed out after bottom plate failed to heat.” Please help.

Hi there,

I’m not sure about the heat bed thing but I had a similar problem, I put it down to a bad batch of filament. I printed some objects fine then part way through it just stopped, same settings as before it caused a ticking type sound as it was trying to push filament through.

What happened with mine it had caused a jam in the nozzle and PTFE tube, as well as excess fillament in the gears.

I did what you did took fan out cleared the gears. but also had to take the nozzle off clean that out and clear the tube or replace it. it is one of the spares in the kit you get.

Hope this helps

I agree on pulling it apart to check the nozzle and barrel for a clog.

Thanks guys, I did that and it was the tube in the nozzle that was clogged. Ordered some new ones so hopefully that will solve everything.
