Hi! I am new to Hubs and am hoping to buy a printer and start a Hub. I searched for this topic and did not find anything, so if you know of an existing thread I would be happy to start by reading that.

When I searched my local region for Hubs I noticed that there is one within my neighborhood. Their quality rating is lower than the machine that I am considering so we would not totally overlap in markets but I wonder if there are “norms” for how close to each other hubs should be. If there are norms that would discourage my starting a new hub so close, how have other people gotten around that? Would I just agree to market in a different territory? Do other hubs just ignore each other territory wise and just compete for the jobs?

Thanks for your help!

@chaptor do you have the 3d printer review? It s a decent guide for 3d printing…wil sent it to you todat Greetz alf

Hi chaptor, looking forward to having you on board  First things first, though!

1. Here’s some info on how to start your own hub: Become a manufacturing partner today | Hubs | Hubs.

2. Regarding the ‘competition’ aspect, it’s important to understand that there are many criteria on which customers choose a hub, besides the geographical one, such as printer, type of materials they’re using, pricing, reviews, response time or hub profile (images of prints you made for example).

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

Thanks for your help. I have looked at that page and will study it some more. Looking at machine reviews etc. I want to start at a good quality but without sinking myself financially, so snooping around a bit first.
