Can anyone explain to me how to embed the Order Widget on a Facebook business page? Step by step? I literally was just told by 3D Hubs Customer Support two weeks ago that they do not have this feature, but today along with the Hub Insights, there was this nice “Tips” box, and that was one of the suggestions. So is it possible? I do know another service bureau has that option, as well as a software solution provider.
I would be thrilled to use the Order Widget on my FB page. How?

Would also like to know if this is possible.
There more information about the order widget upon this post
Also I have been able to add the order widget to my face-book page
copied and pasted from the post I made in the above post link
Believe it or not !! I have just done this this. It’s not official but shows the Order widget box when clicked upon it.
Hers is how I was able to do it. (carried out upon the desktop version of face-book upon a laptop)
Be logged into your 3D Hubs profile and select view your hub. Upon the button marked “Get a quote from this hub” if you right click (rather than left) you should/might get a option to “open link in new tab” left click that option. The order widget will open in the new page. If you look at URL box in the browser you should see a URL, so highlight it and copy it to the clipboard (hit ctrl-c)
It should look something like this: https://www.3dhubs.com/service/uk-b-h-3dprintandstuff/3dprint
Now go to your face book page and make a new post. Select the text box and hit (ctrl-v) to paste the contents of the clipboard into that post. Check it’s the same as the one you copied. Now publish the post, then look in the left hand top corner of the post for a V looking symbol, click that and you should see an option called “pin to top”
You should end up with the following post upon you face-book page
https://www.facebook.com/3DPrintandStuff/posts/1545800955439528?ref=noti…
Which when clicked will open a new tab, take the user to your hub and display the order wiget
Hope that helps you out.

Thanks for posting this Chris. You can also add this link to a button on your Facebook page.
We should definitely clarify this better in the tips and educate our CS guys on how to do this, sorry about that.

Maybe, but not able to see an option to “add button” in my face-book page based in the UK. That might be due to face-book regional settings where some functions or features are only available to users within set areas.
My first attempt was to copy and paste the button code from hubs power tools into a face-book but it wouldn’t run the script, so failed. The URL http method worked but got the URL using my method not the code in power-tools. I’m sure that face-book admins turn off HTML support in their users posts to control spam content and auto bot posting scripts.
Yeah the html widget will not work on Facebook like this. I will make sure we include a link to a guide on how to do this in the tips.

Thank you for the reply, Chris. I have checked out your workaround and that other thread.
Unfortunately, still no solution.
Your method is working, but you are not using the actual widget, just a redirect to your hub, so you are still getting the full fee.
There is one guy in that thread, who does have a solution that is working, utilizing the actual Order Widget. It is not exactly elegant as it opens a duplicate of his page first then the order widget shows up, but it does work, and it is the actual widget.
He was only able to do so using a third-party app called Thunderpenny. Starting at $29.00/month!
Not really an efficient solution to get a button that should not be difficult to implement.
I have the Order Widget on my website and it works fantastically. It is inline, it is embedded, and it looks and functions like it belongs there. Love it.
I tried to do the same on my FB page when I found out some other providers had a rather elegant solution already.
Example: https://www.facebook.com/BoozeKashi
I contacted 3D Hubs CS and went back and forth several times and they finally said they had no such option, no plan to develop an option like that, and no information about when or if it would ever happen.
Then I see that nice “Tip” today…
That workaround method is linking into your hub, not using the Order Widget, so while it does get the customer to your order page, it does not provide the full benefit of using the Order Widget. i.e. the reduced 15% fee…
I tried to get your CS to look at into it, but I don’t think they did. What “Treats***k” is doing works and does not seem very complicated (it is Facebook, not Wolfram-Alpha). For the user, it is very simple to implement, about three clicks and done. I have it on my page at the moment for lack of another option, but since they don’t have any other currency choices it is pointless for me anyway. But it is exactly what 3D Hubs needs to do: https://www.facebook.com/BoozeKashi
Thanks for posting this thread! I was also wondering this very same question.
Yep you are right, I apologize for that. I remember someone made a proper Facebook integration as a proof of concept. I will check if it is functional and give you an update tomorrow.

I checked with our developer and unfortunately the solution for Facebook is not ready yet. The plan is to finish it during our pizza night when we work on our side projects. For now I removed it from the tip as it was misleading.
