Folks,

As you can see from the map there isn’t a 3D lab in Ghana so I’ve partnered with a local university Ashesi to open one this fall for their new engineering school. Ashesi is one of the best colleges in Africa, started by an impressive ex-Microsoft engineer. The lab needs a few printers, parts and filament to get started.

Here’s what I’ve done:

  • harassed all my friends and classmates
  • reached out to Printrbot, Ultimaker, Makerbot and several manufacturers
  • reached out to my NYC meetups buddies
  • and I’m going to set up an Indiegogo campaign.

Any other ideas on how to raise the $10K needed? Press contacts would be helpful to get the word out.

Thanks!

Kobby

Hey Kobby! That’s a great initiative. Perhaps @Nikki or @Simona would have some suggestions on how to reach out to the community.
