Just curious to know what the numbers in the top left of each comment refer to, with the black up and down arrows? Clicking on them doesn’t seem to do anything but change the number!

Anyone enlighten me please?

Thanks

They are a bit like the thumbs up / down buttons you find on other websites. They basically show how helpfully/ usefully / enjoyable the person post was. The higher the number the more up votes they have got and the more usful the post was. And the opposite for negative number ( worst post, more down votes. )

Also if you go to your profile by clicking on the My Account button you can see how many invited you have and where you stand in the community as well as other things.

Hope me this helps!

Indeed, @jeri and @alopcas! The voting system for both threads and comments is meant to push the most interesting content on top, so that more people can see it. It’s more about likes and dislikes, although when you don’t agree with a certain comment for example, I wouldn’t go for a down-vote, rather for dialogue, discussion. Spam and shameless promotion will definitely get my downvote though

Adam, if you want to see how you stand in terms of upvotes, you can take a peek at your user profile here.
