Hey Everyone!

This Sunday kicks off the first event of our #TinkerTour on the way to World Maker Faire in New York. From Sept 20th to the 27th, we’ll be meeting with some of our awesome friends in Boston, Baltimore and New York to host meetups and workshops for our local users.

In Boston (9/20), we’ll be showing locals how to make a 3D printed planter in Tinkercad at danger/awesome’s maker space. We did this workshop before in Manhattan over the summer and it was pretty great.

In New York, 3D Hubs will be helping out with 2 workshops. The first is Paddle Battle Moat Boats (9/23), for which we teamed up with Ocean State Maker Miill and 3D Hubs to help you design a 3D printable boat at 3D Hubs HQ. The boats will be printed and raced on Sunday at World Maker Faire at the New York Hall of Science.

On Thursday 9/24, we’ll be designing clasps for some wearable technology. If you’re not familiar with them, Lumo Body Tech has created a device – the Lumo Lift – that acts as a “Personal Posture Coach” by tracking your posture, as well as steps and calories. We’ll be hosting Lumo and 3D Hubs at Autodesk’s Chelsea offices for a workshop to create personalized clasps for the magnetic device. (They’re also offering a 30% discount if you get one with your ticket…!)

Finally, we’ll meet up with the Instructables crew at World Maker Faire in Queens, NY. On the last day, participants from Wednesday’s Paddle Battle design workshop with OSMM will race their 3D printed boats - like they did last year at Maker Faire Bay Area.

I’ve created a blog post with all the info and dates, look for posts and pix during the week. Stay tuned and we’d appreciate any reposts/retweets!
