Hi, the fan on my Wanhao I3 Plus is making a very loud and inconsistent noise, which goes away if I turn the machine on/off

Any ideas as to what the issue isor what might be causing the issue, and if its detrimental to the health of my machine.

Its probably the bearings going out on the fan. Eventually it will die and stop providing cooling to whatever it points at. If its the hotend it will jam or your prints will look like crap. If its the mainboard it could overheat and fail.

well bugger, its the one facing the hot end. Do you know how to fix it? Will look myself tommorrow on youtube, see if there’s anything on there.

unscrew it and see what kind it is and order a new one. or contact place you bought from

I have sent an email to the supplier (Technology outlet) and I have only had it for 3 months so its well within the warranty period

I bought mine from Technology Outlet too and have the same problem. Been going on for a few months but no sign of the fan failing
