Hi Boston!

We recently had a “3D Printing Drones” and a “3D Printing Wearables” meetups, which were both fun and well attended by the broader community. What type of an event would you like to see next? Any ideas for themes & venues?

I would like to again mention the possibility of piggybacking some of our meetups with existing events hosted by other industries or subcultures. This would take a lot of the logistics pressure off of the Hubs organizers and guarantee “muggles” who need to be educated in the magical ways of local additive manufacturing. In any of the events, we could attend in an official capacity, with a table/booth, or just show up as a cohesive group attending the event as a field trip.

- My initial example was the upcoming mini mini maker faire being planned at the Wenham Museum for mid July. This a kid centric event, which I’ve heard requested, and we have the opportunity to have a table/booth all our own for free. Lots of chances to educate folks and network.

- The Waltham Watch City Festival is coming up the weekend of May 8th. This is a great SteamPunk event and even if you have to google it, it should be obvious that these folks are tailor made for 3D printing. They love to make things and have things custom made just for them.

- more ideas to come… please post your event suggestions as well.
