Hi all,

I’m new to 3d printing, just finished assembling Anet A8 printer but can not get anything to print. Everything looks fine, selecting preheat Pla, temp comes up. All motors seem to work, go to “Home” when selected. I’ve tried selecting the preloaded models but nothing happens. The status even says printing but nothings moving. I’m sure I’m missing something simple. Can you please help this novice?

Thanks, Clyde

Just to be sure: You are printing the gcode files from the microsd card? Stl files wont get printed. Regards Sebastian

It takes time to start printing. Everything needs to heat up, home, etc. Hit print and let it sit for a bit.

He said that he was preheating…

Have you tried printing straight from your computer?like not on an sd card. I have an anet coming in today so I will be sure to keep you updated.

Right, but the PLA preheat option is different from the temps of the sample prints by 20 and 10 degrees, so it takes another 5-15 minutes to start printing, depending on the calibration of the PSU

Thanks for all the help, I was not selecting the correct file, didn’t open up the file enough for the g code…lesson learned.

Thanks, that was my problem…

I did the same at the first time… So… High five…

Hi all, I completed my build of the a8 last night and everything went fine, but I couldn’t get the stl file to print. Thankfully I’ve happened upon this post, I was panicking that it was a dud printer. Going to try it again tonight.
