We are a company that develops and sells technology equipment across the world but we have an office here in the north east side of (Metro) Atlanta. We have and use a 3D Printer all the time so what the heck, we are setting up a hub in order to provide prints to the world at large when our printer is not working for us or for me to make toys for my kids. I hope you will all say “Hi” and let me know what kind of workload you have seen in the Atlanta market on 3D Hubs.

My wife works for a product innovation company so i make models for them all the time when they need a prototype ASAP for a client so I’m quite used to last minute requests from engineers and designers on a dead line (or in most cases already passed a deadline!)

Cheers!

Bo Joe, It is great to see others venturing into 3D World. We are doing this since mid 2014. First 6 months it was

part time job as I own IT company and until August worked for large corporation in Town with huge amount of long distance travel. I spent second half of 2014 analyzing market and drafting business plan. There is huge potential under condition that one is doing it right. There is still a lot of hype and garbage about 3D technology causing frustrations and negativity and my center will work to educate, produce, design and to create social environment around 3D activities. Thanks to 3D Hubs idea we can make difference here. Please stop by at PaliProto for Grand Opening April 30 at 1.00 pm or 4.00 pm. We are located at 4994 Lower Roswell Rd, suite 18 in Marietta.

Nikki,

As we 3D print for our own business we know how awesome rapid prototyping can be for the design process. and as a business that had previously just sent out items for print, we know that learning how to get good results is a learning process and most businesses may not want to invest the time and money into adding a print shop to their business. that is why we started a hub and with all the business going on in the I-85 North corridor i know that there is a big need for this kind of service in the area.

Thanks for building this great service! i can’t wait to print for customers and use the service myself if i need a material printed that i cannot handle on my own.

One idea i had for making the service better would be that you could add the ability to sort hubs by max build volume of the printer as that is a limitation of my printer that i need to overcome on a few occasions. knowing who has a huge build volume around me could become very useful on occasion!

Kuba,

I wish that i could make it but getting from my side of town to your side of town between 1 and 4 on a Monday would be depressing. Perhaps some weekend i could drop by after you are open! what is your website?
