So the new Formlabs just came out. I’m curious what you all think of it. Looks quite epic to me!

What pro’s / cons do you guys think?

The Form 2 is going to make SLA 3D printing mainstream.

Looks cool, I like the added resin cartridge so no more messy filling. Will be interesting to see the difference the ‘sweeper’ makes on residual cured resin. Same price range too. I’m a fan.

Larger build volume and less messy - the Formlabs team have been listening to their customers. Additionally smart to incentivize upgrades to their existing community of users. Congratulations on some nice work!

Actualy,

I am a bit fustrated, cause I bought the Form1+ two months ago.

There was not even a rumor, they where working on a new model.

Besides that, it looks great!

  • The connectivity is a huge asset.
  • The new peeling system looks great,
  • A bit of a downside , the fact the new Form2 will use cardridges, makes it probably impossible to use third party resin.

I am wondering what the 35 degrees has to do with the quality.

Does it make a huge difference? Maybe its possible the create something for the older models to raise the themerature a bit.

In the past the support of formlabs is really great. I hope they will be able to contintue that !

I contacted formlabs, and they offer a discount of 400 euro for every form1 and Form1+ owner. Kickstarter backers get a discount of 600 euro. thanks for the link

FormLabs team did an excellent choice leaving to refill cartridges with other RESIN compatible.
