I just finished assembling the anet a8 abd kept getting def error for both - bed and nozzle. checked ohms on both and they are fine(~130k). After changing the stock firmware to skynet 1.1 the nozzle started heating but the bed still has the problem. Bed heat stops after getting to 18-19 degrees Cel. and cuts off.
Any tips on what needs to be done ? since firmware change worked i even tried skynet marlin 2.3.9 but same issue not i get ‘mintemp bed error’ and it disables the printer.

Any tips on how to fix it ?

This a pretty easy one, although, I’m not sure about after the firmware update.

DEF means one or both of the thermistors are not reading correctly. On the old firmware, you had a second between powering on the machine and the double-def showing, during which one of the the thermistors would show a ‘dieing’ reading. Something like -40 or -300 or something ridiculous that the machine can’t actually possibly be, this is what will indicate which thermistor is defunct. I’m not sure if this still happens with the new firmware. lemme know and I’ll guide you through the rest.

There is a red LED under the bed. The LED will be on when heating the bed. If you don’t see the red LED, either you have a bad heating bed or a bad connection. I will check the black and red wire on 6-pin female connector first. Mine has a loose pin.

Usually, the DEF occurs if you have the screw holding the thermistor into the heating block too tight that it shortens the circuit of the thermistor. Try to loosen the screw and then restart the machine. It should fix the issue. Then heat up the block a little and tighten the screw right untill you get the DEF again. If you do get it, redo those steps again
