A lot of my colleagues are blind. I dream of creating a 3D wall of fame for them using miniature busts (head & neck only) of everyone in the company, so they can see with their hands exactly what all their coworkers look like. Some people have worked here for 50 years and never known what their colleagues look like! It would be great to have something like this: Blind students get incredible 3D-printed 'yearbook' - CNET as we are celebrating our centennial this year. I have no idea if this is possible in Nola, or if we (a nonprofit) could afford it. Any advice/ insight would be appreciated!

Big ole N.O.

Yall not too far from me.

I dont think it would be a big task at all. Just need to scan everyone, do clean up work if necessary, then print. You wont need a super high def scanner to do this. How many people are in your company?

Cool! We have about 160 people. How/where is the scanning done? Could it be brought here? Getting everyone off-site to be scanned could be difficult logistically.

email me at vinnies@relentlessdesigns.net.

I can tell you the whole process

Hi @Erin, have you seen this? Hubs | On-demand Manufacturing: Quotes in Seconds, Parts in Days. Let me know if you need any advice

Very cool idea. Add braille under each to finish it off

Hi there Erin,

We are based here in New Orleans and have scanners and printers that should definitely be able to meet your needs. Let me know if you interested and we can set up a visit. Also, we’ll be out at the New Orleans Mini Maker Faire this Saturday, March 7th so feel free to swing by and say hello.

Hi,

Thats a cool idea. My father is blind and I just started up and LLC to print things. I’d be more than happy to help with the printing. Generally its not terribly expensive with PLA or ABS plastics.

I had not seen that! A cool option to scan ourselves with the help of an app…

Yes, I have recently moved to Nola

Hey Erin,

I just wanted to follow up about that visit. Feel free to drop us a line at support@entrescan.com or give us a call at 504-309-4901 and we can set something up or answer whatever questions you might have.

Awesome Idea!
