Hi there I was wondering which 3D printer should I buy at first. I’m an architecture student and I want the printer to make models and prototypes as well as a hobby.

After searching out there all the different types of printers, the anet a8 has taken my attention due to its low price. I don’t know if I should buy this one to introduce myself into the 3D printing world or buy a better one from the beggining.

Thank you!

I would go with the FolgerTech FT5 kit its only $499 and you will learn a lot by building it.

you will keep upgrading it with different stuff as you progress with your 3d printing experience and needs… has a huge build volume that will be invaluable once you know what you are doing (3D printing wise) and want to print “real” things and architectural models. All parts are open source so you can buy replacement parts anywhere.

good luck!
