I just got my MP Select 2.1, ran into some easily solved issues already because it was a refurbished printer, but I’m really stuck on this one, and perhaps I’m not doing something right.

I’m printing in ABS, I got it all loaded up and preheated. I stick the SD card in that they sent with the printer, and select one of the pre-sliced models. After changing the settings to accommodate for ABS, the printer waits a few seconds until the temps are just right, and then all axes home. Then it sits there in the corner, not moving extruding anything, while the progress % goes up to 99% within a few minutes and exits the printing screen, apparently assuming that the job was done.

I did try slicing a GCode myself in Cura and there was no difference in the printer’s behavior.

This doesn’t seem quite right, and I could really use some help if anyone can guess what’s going on.

I’ve been fiddling around with this, and have run into some more confusing issues. I did get it to start printing… For a moment, anyway! I started on PLA settings, and switched to the higher temperatures during the first bit of the printing process. Good to know my bed height looks decent. However, only about two minutes in, the temperature settings both went down to 0 and the print head homed right back to the corner and wouldn’t leave! I tried setting the temps again, but it still wouldn’t budge and acted the same way as before. I wasn’t able to replicate whatever happened here to make it want to start printing anything in the first place.

Also, the temps set in Cura don’t seem to carry over to the printer. The sliced files all start at 0 and I have to bump them up. Don’t know if it’s a related issue. The Gcode files don’t seem corrupted, Notepad can read them.

Idk. Help.

Sounds like corrupt sd card.

Try download samples or slice new to another SD card

Have you looked for a recommended Cura profile for your printer? There are probably quite a few out there well-tailored for PLA and others for ABS.

Good luck!

I have had the Mono price mini issues. My PC could read files on SD but the printer did similar actions.

Solved by using the new sd card. It could be how card is formatted

Ahh thank you guys… Just a bad SD card! Whew! I dug up an old one out of my drawers and it worked fine. Thank you, I don’t know if I’d have ever happened to think to try that < 3
