Hi,
I have been having some issues wit the 3D printer I’m building. When I move the motors manually there is no problem, but when I want to see how they move while printing, all the motors home but only the Z axis and the extruder motors move when “printing” something (I connected all the necessary parts of the printer but I don’t have the printer assembled, I wanted to see how the motors reacted to printing). I noticed that the X and Y motor drivers get really hot even though the motors only move to the place where the printing starts.
Y have tried reducing the ammount of false steps (I set it in 1/16) but, when I do it, the motors start failing. The Repetier Host software says that there is movement in the X and Y axis, so I thought there may be a problem with the speed/acceleration settings for the motors, but I don’t have a refference for the values.
Any ideas for what the cause of the absence of movement while printing may be?
Update: I think that it may be because of the speed of the motors, based on the fact that the axis move only when there is a considerable distance to be covered. Does anyone know an average of the speed of the steppers that must be set?
