Well it’s never a dull moment with the CTC printer. I powered it on today to test some 3D printers after the advice I got on my Layers thread. However I now have a new problem, the printer will not read the SD card.
I have tried another SD card and I get the same error “SD Card Read Error”. If I take the SD card out I get the Error " No SD Card" So I know it can detect the SD card but for some reason it won’t read it.
I have tried re-formatting the 2GB Sd card as Fat, also tried another 64Mb SD card but neither are read in the printer. They both read fine on my PC. I have checked the connections on the PCB and all are on fine.
Has anyone else seen this issue? If so if it fixable or is my printer now a paperweight?

I have been doing some tinkering and figured out what the problem is. One of the pins inside the card reader had been bent back and was no longer making contact with the card. I managed to get the housing of the card reader bent back and got the pin back to where it should be.
My question now is: Is it possible to change the actual card reader on the PCB for something like this:

Well after some time the seller got back to me and has sent out a new part free of charge. So all is now good. Back to printing the upgrades for the printer.
