Hello!
So, my problems with monoprice continue. After having my first printer for only a month, the extruder motor died. Tried putting on a new one, it didn’t work. Contacted the company and they were out of stock for over a month. When I finally got my new one a month later, I got it setup and it worked fine. For 2 weeks… The extruder motor once again, doesn’t work. It DID spin without tension on it, and now it just makes clicking noise and looks like it is stuck (but it isn’t). I have another extruder motor and wiring harness (but I have to solder it on.). It seems like no matter how many printers I send back, I’m just going to run into the same problem.
So, last time I tried this, I just replaced the motor and it did not work. Am I also suppose to replace the harness as well with it? I did a little reading, and everyone says it is more common for the wire harness to go out over the motor… To make things better, I WAS printing something out for someone who was wanting to buy something. Now I have to break the bad news (unless I can fix it by tommorow!!!)
That’s a real string of bad luck. I’m a member of the Mini group on Facebook (over six thousand members) and can’t recall anyone having to replace their extruder motor, let alone twice. I assume that the clicking isn’t being caused by a jam?

Make sure you are holding down the release lever on the extruder when you pull out the filament. It seems people just yank the filament out, that turns the the motor fast enough to produce enough current to over volt and fry the motor driver for the extruder.
TLDR: Hold lever pull slow

Disregard this post. I just sent the new printer back and am going to get a Anet A8…
Yea. I figured I am just done with the company as a whole. They are a great company with awesome service, but I am just getting tired of the same old thing happening.
I always press the release lever when changing or cleaning filament. I have just decided to return it and get an entirely different printer instead that I may have better luck with. Thanks for the reply!
When you get around to it, how about updating this thread (or start another) with how the Anet is in comparison? Most of us Mini users dream of larger print beds.
