Hi I’m in the process of installing a ed3 on my mpsm and am a little confused with the heater block and thermistor. I was under the impression I would be able to use the stock thermistor and heater, but the heater block on the ed3 v6 I just recently purchased doesn’t have the two holes for the screw and stock thermistor, there is only one hole for the copper tube type thermistor that came with the kit. From what I understand I can run a PID autotune and use the thermistor that came with the kit but have no idea how to do so and couldnt find clear intructions anywhere either really. If anyone can explain or link me to instructions on how to do so it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I haven’t done it myself, but check out the Facebook group for Mini users. There’s lots of people there who have done that and lots of suggestions.
However… have you tried using the original heat block and thermistor with the E3D? That’s what I did.

Hey thanks for the reply, from the research I have done i found out that they have changed the design of the ed3 a few months ago to only accept a cannistor style thermistor and not the glass bead type that comes with the unit. After installing the new style thermistor and reading through the wiki instructions I was able to figure out how send the coding through printrun and do a PID autone.
