Hello All,
I have a MM V2 and it has a little over 12 days print time logged in the last two months, so fairly new still. Tonight my stepper motor stopped working. It just twitches back and forth. I checked for a clog and you can easily hand push filament through, so I opened it up and tested the stepper motor with nothing touching the gear, it still just moves back and forth. Took a short video

Thank you in advance to any kind soul who takes the time to advise me!

Maybe firmware corruption? Try flashing to the latest version.

You are still under warranty. Have Monoprice send you a new one

Bad stepper driver they will either rma your machine or send you a new controller board. ( I’ve had both done allready) Did it happen after a filiment change?
Yes it happened just after filament change, I had just successfully printed in another color just hours before the issue. I thought maybe the wiring came loose to the motor when it was gently pushed off to the side (I tried jigging connection). I contacted Monoprice via their website last night but haven’t received a response yet. I bought it from Monoprice themselves but through Amazon instead of directly.

More than likely you blew the stepper motor driver pulling the old filiment out and overcolting the board. Gotta make sure you pull slow and use the release.
This is only my second filament change and I’ve been using the fan removal and snip filament above extruder method. I then push the rest of the old filament through with the wire thing the printer came with. All this was done with stepper motor suspended off to the side. I then just threaded in the new filament and heated extruder and attempt to extrude. It was pushing great by hand. This method worked great last time. I’ll wait and see what the response is from Monoprice. Thank you for your assistance
Yes, I reeeeeeeeally wish I kept the box and styrofoam it came with

I had a bad cooling fan on mine and they just sent a new fan. Maybe they will do the same with motor. Then don’t have to box up whole thing to return
