Can you print on the maker select V2 using Tinker CAD? I have a Chromebook and this is the only way I can design on here.

Hi!

In order to print a file, you need three basic things (other than the printer).

The STL file (which you’ll make in Tinkercad)

a slicer (changed the .stl file into gcode which the printer can understand)

a way to transfer the gcode to the printer.

Since you only have a Chromebook, you need to do everything in the cloud. The missing piece here is the Slicer - you’ll need to find a web-based slicer that will generate gcode. Then, you can use it to slice the file, save the gcode to your laptop, and use gcode-sender (a Chrome extension which works surprisingly well) to send the gcode over to the machine (or, simply save it to the included microsd card and print from the machine itself)

I hope this helps! Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions!

TinkerCAD, which I use, creates .stl files. 3D printers use gcode files.

You need to use a slicer program, such as Cura (free!) to create the printable gcode file from an stl file.

So do you know any slicers that work with chromebook?

Yes. You can use any cad program that allows you to format the print as an .STL file.
