I just bought a Monoprice Maker Select Mini and was wondering if anyone on here knows anything about it. It was $199 with 30-day money back so you can’t go to wrong.

If you know anything, mods, tips / tricks, groups (found the facebook group), anything please feel free to comment below.

I got rid of mine. Look at the soldering of the bed. It’s a mess. My bed thermister burnt out due to shoddy soldering. You can only print in PLA and ABS will never print on that open unit. I spend over two weeks from 4 to 5 in the morning to 11 and sometimes 12 at night working on that unit. It is not worth the time dealing with the constant problems of that unit. I hate the dial it is so slippery and does not function well. Sometimes the selection does not work and the turning of the dial a lot of the times is delayed. Like it is not getting the signal that you are turning the dial. It need either a thicker dial like a radio knob or some kind of gripping rubber on it. E-mail the company and get a RMA and send it back. What I will tell you. The XYZ Da Vinci Jr. 1.0 is like anywhere from $299 to $349. And I know there is a lot of people saying all kinds of stuff about this printer. But I will tell you they print excellent! Not one print was bad. No having to constantly level the bed. The models pop right off the bed with that tape they include with the printer. It is simple yellow painters tape. I got the same piece of tape on mine and I have printed over 12 things already. Very simple and easy software that works. The one and only draw back to it. Is that they want you to use their expensive cartridges. But!..You can reset them over and over with a simple method. I do not care what people say about this printer. I give it 10 stars for it’s print quality. And it is made very well. The 1.0 is only a PLA printer, but I love it! I might even buy another XZY that does ABS. So I will have one dedicated to PLA and one to ABS.

I will have to look at the soldering. I have a Robo3d that is wide open and I haven’t had a problem with printing anything, abs, hips, petg, pla.

I bought a Da Vinci 2.0 back in the day and I can say I will never buy a XYZ machine again. They have the absolute worst customer service. They made me pay for shipping to send my printer to them under warranty because of their cheap shotty parts that they didn’t want to send to me because they would have to pay to ship parts to me. It took them over 6 months to just re-flash the ramps board. I hope nothing goes wrong on your printer because you will hate them after dealing with them.
