please help

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you’re having issues removing your print. Do you know what your build platform is made of? If not, could you let me know what printer you have, as I may be able to figure out what material it is?

Best,

Maddie - 3D Hubs

Hi Maddie,

thanks for your response!

I have a Flashforge Finder printer.

finnally I could remove it with a knife and paiciense.

that was a 2cm by 2cm object.

now I am printing a big one and curios what will happen.

any ideas?

okay great so that has a buildtak-like material, you won’t want to squish the material very much into the bed. If you can raise your z offset by about .05mm, that might help. Also, if you have heated bed, heating it back up to around 40c for part removal might help a little, or only heating it to 40-50c when printing PLA might help as well.

thank you for your feedback Maddie!

again with a knife and patience a got the model off the plate.

It looks like the platform is not heated.

the “z” is the extruder? .05mm seem like noting, I’ll give it a try, I guess in the menu it should show how to do that.

Thanks again for your help. This is a gift for my son and he is really enthusiastic about it.

Yeah Z is the extruder height. you could try .1mm as well.

This is essentially a leveling issue, your bed is too high/too close to the nozzle. Did you do the “paper test” when you move the extruder to each corner of the bed and turn the screw until a standard piece of paper has a little friction on it from the nozzle?

Glad to hear about more kids getting into 3D Printing!

It helps to heat the build plate to soften the plastic. The bottom of the part might get ruined but it lets you pull it off easily and saves the build plate.
