Is there anybody which has some problem to keep order on file.system across CAD-file, GCode and so on?
I try to explain: when I create a design-file (e.g. Skecthup, …), this one 'll be processed into CAE and CAM software creating a new file for each step. And what happen when I print it on different printers with different parameters (e.g. infill, …)? Many other files.
A possible solution may be a db application which creates the name-file for each phase and stores itself STL/PLY and Gcode files for each printer and each profile. In this manner we can get a versioning system also. Before to start with development, is there anybody which know an existent solution?
example: gv00004100_fx3caa.gcode

Hey mauro109,
Unfortunately I’ve never heard of an application or solution to this problem. However I think this is a brilliant concept which may work. I usually have this trouble, where various files and applications must be opened in order to get the correct file type required. If you decide to develop this idea, I’d be happy to help. Just let me know if there is anything that I can help out with, so that you may turn this concept into somethings very useful.
I hope I may offer my services
thanks GIFT3D.
I’m going to define the tables. the core is the relation between:
USER 1----m DESIGN 1----m VERSION 1----m PRINTER 1----m FILAMENT 1----m PROFILES
(where “1----m” stands for “one-to-many”).
I plan to develop using a VPS in “cloud mode” and web-based.
If you want you can define some use-case layout: e.g. “when the user creates a new design” or “a user grants permission to another”, …
Let me know your email to share other related documents.
have a nice day.

Hey MR,
My email is kanedervan@icloud.com. I have a good understanding of database, but I’m not sure of the terminology. Don’t worry, I’m a quick learner so I’ll soon pick it up. A VPS sounds like a great idea.
Hope to hear from you soon.
