Hey there,

I am a teacher and I have an issue with our school’s Makerbot Replicator 2x printer. I’ve had it plugged into a power supply with tripp protection its entire life and have never had an electrical fault with this thing, but now, when I turn the thing on, the startup chime sounds, the lights turn on the screen and I see the main menu. Things look good, but about 2 seconds later the menu flashes, becomes unresponsive and I hear a three toned chime running over and over. I have tried unplugging the power supply at both ends and re-plugging everything in. I unscrewed the bottom plate to inspect for any popped capacitors or burn marks, re-seated the 5 small motor boards, checked ribbon cables and I have even pressed the little reset button on the board. I’ve also removed the board to inspect the other side and I see nothing wrong. Interestingly, I was able to update the firmware to .6 while it was in this weird cycle, but it still just keeps blinking and beeping. Has anyone ever experienced this or have a quick fix? I have student prints piling up and our school, like most schools, has no budget to repair or replace this thing. Thanks!
