Hi All,

i was wondering if anyone has had an issue with their Makerbot gen 5 XY Axis.

we have had this machine for a year and a half and apart from issues with the extruder at the start it has completed some really good prints. I think we have built up over 700 hours of printing.

until yesterday. the build started okay but then the XY gantry belt started a regular clunking and the layers drift in either x or y or both axies. This would appear to be either a pulley or belt tightness issue but it is not obvious how I might sort this on this Makerbot?

has anyone else any advice on how I might sort this out.

Hi you need to tighten the belts there are 3d printable tensioners on Thingiverse.
