Has anyone had their heating bed fail to heat on the V2 model? mine has stopped heating, the temp still shows but it will not pre-heat or heat for ABS. this machine has only made 3 prints so far, I hope the bed did not fail.

I doubt the problem is a pinched wire under the bed. Since it is only 3 prints and the temp is not stuck on 0 degrees. Put a DMM on the Bed temp out pins when setting the bed temp. If there is no voltage after setting a high temp., the defect is in the board. If you have voltage after setting the temp I would investigate the heat plate end…
I put a multimeter to the heating wires while it was set to heat, there was no current. I just got off the phone with mono-price tech support and asked if there was a part like a fuse i could replace but they want to replace the whole machine. that is good in some ways, but shipping is a 7 day thing on this and i really did not want to wait. at least they replace it all though. Good warranty and service from the company.

I just got my printer on October 30 and i did about 10 prints and then the heated bed stopped working last night. Just put in a ticket with monoprice customer service. I wanted to check in with them before opening up my control box. Did you figure out a solution yet?
Just saw your response. Did you get your new one? Is the new one working well?

my thoughts were to send the whole machine in like the company wanted and replace it, but packing all the components in the box in order so it would all fit properly was a real pain in the ass. If only they would have let me open the black control box and take the psu out and send it back to them for a replacement it would have all worked out well. as it was, once I had the thing boxed up I called them up and said " I dont want it back", I then went out and purchased a kit from flsun ( a nice kossell delta mini) they have worked with me well despite a lag in shipping and have honored the contract to do all they can to help me get the machine up and running( by the way its an awesome machine) . An added benefit was my learning curve building the kossel delta, it was fun and I would do it again. on my 7th print. my advice is to send it back and get a machine that will let you replace separate components with out breaking the warranty.
good luck rogue 45.
Well the board provides 12vdc to the heat bed. You could disconnect from the board and splice direct to an external 12vdc. I use this setup for fans to cool the stepper drivers on the board. When they get hot the extruder mimics a false jam.

two choices, well maybe three: first you can send it all back and get the whole new machine( they pay all the shipping, they are honest guys and the shipping is expensive and fast) two: if you like the machine and dont care about the warrenty crack that case open and hook it up to a multi-meter set for DC on the big red and black wires coming off the silver box inside the case. if you have no juice go and find yourself an old personal computer with at least a 300 watt power supply and rip it out . then go on line and look up pc psu for 3d printer. it will cost you next to nothing for the pc and you will learn something cool( plus you will get more power than you had on your unit. if you have a set of wire cutters and tape and wire nuts you can do this, its easy.

Shoot that melzi board is $100. If i have no voltage at the heated bed, I’ll just send it in. I was really hoping to tear into it
Stupid they won’t let me open the box to check the board. Would they know i opened it?

Just thought i’d give you an end status. I emailed monoprice support and they were actually really cool. He said i could open the control box and investigate and send him images. I started at the hotbed itself and detected no voltage, I then opened the box and tested under the hotbed connector against the solder on the underside of the board. There is a clear + -. I didn’t detect any voltage there either. I did get voltage at the power connector. This tells me the power makes it from the psu to the board and the board is distributing power to every component except the hotbed. Support doesn’t seem to be able to just exchange melzi boards so i will be sending in the whole thing. Not awesome, but monoprice support has been quick to respond and cool overall. Hopefully unit 2 doesn’t have the same problem. I am surprised by the simplicity of these things.
Have the same problem, should probably yo get replacement. Never find anything on the internet.
How do you regulate the temperature of the bed if you do this?
