so I just took my duplicator I3 out of the box and put it together, after tightening all the wing nuts as far as they will go the nozzle is still digging into the bed in the home position.

Raise the endstop or z offset.

My duplicator 5s mini had the same problem and with an acrylic bed it didn’t end well.

Is is there a screw at the back of the bed that hits a z axis cut off switch? Mine did not hit until it was hitting the bed I simply unscrewed it a bit and it was fixed.

I had this same issue plus every couple prints the bed needs leveled again. What I did was very simple…I took a pair of pliers and positioned the pliers on the corner of the aluminum sheet (HBP support) and I bent each corner up a few millimeters which in turn gave the springs more slack which allows the bed to be leveled properly and more easily.

I also recommend slightly stronger springs plus adding a locknut under the HBP (heated build plate) so the screw does not turn when adjusting the wingnuts.

Cheers and happy printing!

Did you removed the tape from the end stops??

Hi,

Sometimes the z axis gets knocked down or off centre which will cause this,

All you need to do is grab a ruler and twist the z axis rods to raise the extruder slightly.

Make sure the z axis is ‘home’ when adjusting this.

There are two positions for the axis endstop switch to be mounted. Use the provided allen key and undo the bolts, keeping mind of the spacers (they will fall, and you don’t want to lose them), then mount it on the higher set of threaded holes.
