I’m looking for a person with serious expertise in 3D printing that is in the Seattle/Bellevue/Kirkland area. I’d like to spend an hour talking and printing with this person with the goal of absorbing knowledge.

I’ll pay a reasonable rate.

I just got a MAKEiT 3D Printer. I’m doing ok with it. But as you might guess, there is a lot of expertise I lack…e.g.: stuff like how much glue to put on the print bed? What about the extrusion multiplier? What filament do you use and why? Calibration, layer height…nozzles… what have you learned from your experience you wish you knew when you started?

Please send any recommendations to happyday dot mjohnson at gmail dot com .

Thank you.

Hey there! Congrats on your new printer! I’m in Woodinville, I’ve been printing for a few years now.

Perhaps I can be of some help.

Cheers,

Moses

Truly appreciate your offer…thank you!!! Turns out I found someone who has provided a huge amount of help/insight…i mean…i had know idea how fascinating extrusion multipliers could be :-)…temperature, extrusion width…doesn’t seem to stop. Well, that’s a lot of the fun. So I’m all set.

Are there any meet ups/3d community things in the area you attend?

Again thanks. I am truly enjoying the MAKEiT-Pro. Particularly because of their support - yah, the printer was priced higher than others…but i really crave strong support.

That’s awesome! Yeah there’s a ton of help and resources available online. You can also look into Lake Washington Technical I heard they’re adding a 3D printing course soon.

I had quite a bit of experience with my printrbot, but have been leaning on MAKEiT for slicing help on tough models with the pro, it has been a great service. Hopefully we can get some meetups going again.

Hey Garth,

Thanks again for the excellent printing job you did for me. I highly recommend your services.

When you mentioned you were getting a MAKEiT…I thought…what the heck - I’ll get one of them and figure all this 3D isms out. I am having a blast…fascinating how retraction distance / extrusion width/flow …is interesting.

Please let me know if the community around here has any meetups.

How’s the printer working out so far? I’m thinking of getting a makeit pro-L

I have been really happy with my Pro-M, spend much less time on maintenance and operating the machine than I did with my printrbot and can charge more.

Their support has been great, I can put you in contact with someone at MAKEiT if you would like.

Garth
