Anyone know why this is happening? using pla printing on a makergear 2

Hi @CompleteCricuit,

It could be multiple things, maybe you are not extruding enough material (flow rate mm^3/s is too high resulting in underextrusion).

For a general rule of thumb your flow rate should not be more than 9 mm^3/s. The flow rate is determined by the nozzle diameter (mm) * the layer height (mm) * print speed (mm/s). So in your case you may want to lower the print speed and or the layer height.

It could also be that your layers are not sticking to each other. This could be because your nozzle to bed distance is too high (meaning the bed should be re-calibrated) or the extrusion temperature is too low for the material you are using. You can check if the problem has to do with the nozzle-bed distance, by taking the print off the heat bed and examining the first layer. If you can see the through the lines (of the first layer) and can visibly see strings, that means you are nozzle is too far from the bed when it prints.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

tl;dr try lowering your print speed.

The print is kind of hard to see but I would guess these things. Printing too fast. A little more temp on the extruder. Layer height?

We really need more info.
