Hi,
I want to print something that is about 900x200x60mm. Which hub is able to do this.
Thank you.
Regards.
Hi @Mark_29 @middelweerd @NickLievendag3D @FELIX3 @3DMakersMagic @3D_17 @jasper3D4Makers do you have any advice for @Beschuiten? Cheers
Yes I can print that size but it all depends on what you want exactly. What will be the use of the printed model? How complicated is the design? What material do you want it to be printed in? In what resolution do you want it to be printed?
Best regards,
Coen

Hi, maybe it’s a option to cut the 3D model in pieces?
I reviewed the Big Builder 3D printer a while ago (read the review here) but even that one can’t print 90 cm tall. But It seems that somebody already replied that can!

Hi Coen,
I have no Idea in the material. I have a file. maybe I can sent it to you to see what the best option is?
I would consider cutting it in smaller pieces too, if that is an option. Trying to print something that is 900mm long in one piece can give you quite some problems, especially if dimensional accuracy is important. Basically all the materials show some form of shrinkage from the thermal differences in the process. This can already make problems in small prints (thats why we usually want to have a sticky print surface and a heated bed or print chamber to fight against shrinking during the printing process) and it will only get worse with larger prints. If you consider only 1% shrinking on a 900mm piece, you already look at 9mm of error that could get introduced, definately not a small number anymore! (In mold design you usually calculate with around 0.5-0.9% shinking for ABS, depending on the exact chemical composition of course)
In the end, it really depends on what you are actually trying to make. If it is just a piece of artwork, you can “bend some rules” a bit more, but if it is a functional/mechanical part that has to hold up to some applied forces and/or needs some dimensional accuracy, another set of rules has to be considered in fabrication. So, without knowing what you are actually trying to make, it’s hard to give a suitable advice.
You can try both the “Pivot Maker” and the “Big Rep”, they should be able to do the trick
Hey @Beschuiten, how did everything turn out? @I3d might be able to help as well, check out the Big Marvin they did
