Hi, I would like to print an object similar to a grill for a water drainage chute. It would ideally be made of a material which people could stand on. The dimensions are 1.5m long/20cm wide and maybe 0.5cm thick. I do have a file which I could send to someone if this sounds doable? Ultimately I’d like to print 8 of these which would interlink.
Thanks in advance!
Hi Peter, in which city are you based? Tagging this thread accordingly will allow you to reach all the makers in your area. Cheers

5mm tick and you should be able to stand on it?? With multiple parts linked together?? Do you support the total length of 12 meters with pillars in-between? Even for 1,5mm probably only metals like steel will hold up to your requirements.
Ultimately we want the part injection moulded, and the designers are confident that the part will be strong enough if made of recycled plastic. Did you see the picture attached? Unfortunately I don’t have a better picture…
Thanks for taking the time to reply

Do you have any 3d model you could share? There’s really not that much information to gain from one picture. I would definitely consider supporting the print with internal steel rods, similar to steel-concrete. Do your designers think about some plastic in particular? Are there any requirements (including outdoor use, exposure to certain chemicals namely solvents)? Does the prototype have to have a specific color? Is assembly of multiple prints even considered as a possibility for this project? What about the resolution, level of detail,… is reworking the print with fillers, paint etc. ok? Lastly is the model optimized for 3d printing (FFF / FDM)? You should be able to answer most questions before proceeding with an actual order as not clarified questions could lead to false assumptions for the material choise and more. That finally could cause the print to fail fir your specific task as it wasn’t made for that. Cheers, Marius Breuer
