I’ve recently build a Kossel XL and I tried to print a few different calibration prints (to rule out the stl as the source) in all cases the printer stops a app 30s into the print and halts. If I stop the print and do a g28 or g1s it does all weird stuff happening., like carriages going down when they should be going up or not moving at all. I then have to power off (to stop the motors) and reset. Then I can do a g28 and move the heads around with g1 …
I don’t know if it’s related but the bed heater isn’t working either and I have to connect to a usb even though it’s with LCD display and card reader but those only work when connected to usb
I’m not familiar with the specific board that Kossel uses but it sounds like the board is set to use USB power instead of external. If the board is using USB power from the computer and the computer goes to sleep or standby mode, it would cause this. It’s also possible that it cannot provide enough amps. For most boards this is usually switched by removing/adding/moving a jumper on the board from USB to EXT. The USB power option is so you can set up the board’s firmware without needing an external power supply but when you actually print, you want EXT power.
