Just wanted to share a print of mine with you guys. This was printed on a Replicator 2x using ABS.

This sculpture was printed in multiple parts - 2 prints for the head, and 3 for each arm (total of 8 prints). The head was split down the middle vertically and then glued together. The arms were split horizontally into a hand, an arm, and a small piece at the bottom. The finished product of the bottom piece before gluing it to the arms resembled a hockey puck. I did this because I wanted to add weight to the bottom of the print so that it could lean further. I modeled it as a empty hockey puck, then split it vertically so I would have access to the center after it printed out. Once printed, I stuffed the inside full of glue and nails then glued the two pieces together. Then I glued the all of the arm pieces together.

For the head, I modeled small depressions on both sides, basically where the fingers touched the head so that there would be good contact area for the glue and also so I would know where the hands should connect to the face.

Once everything was put together I sanded it and painted it. If you guys have any questions or want to see some progress pics, let me know!

Thanks!

Supercool. And the best example that the result is what we aim for. There are many no-glue-all-snaps-together purists out there, and whilst a good and clean design is indeed important, its the usage of all the possibilities that are at our hands that make results like this outstanding.
