Ok, i purchased a monoprice mini 3d printer, like 2 or 3 weeks ago and it worked great!..until today. This morning i flip the on off switch and it went to the main menu and after that it just turned off on its own… the little blue light on the power supply turns off as soon as i flick the switch behind the printer. When i flip the switch back to the off possition the little blue light on the power supply turns back on again. Please help!!!

A couple things to try.
1. Unplug the printer from power an PC, if connected, and leave for a while then plug in only power and try.
2. Check for a blown fuse on the power supply or board.
3. Check for lose wires on the power supply or board (make sure power is unplugged).
4. Try a different power outlet, remove any extension cords, surge protectors etc…
Thanks for the info. I sent an email to the manufacturer and i am waiting for a reply. If that doesnt help the i will try your list. I did try unpluging and pluging, i noticed that if i left the power supply connected in the wall without connecting it to the printer for a long period of time, then connecting the printer to it. It would turn on and stay on. But if i try to print or turn on the heat on the bed and nozzle, it would turn off. When you mean check the board, do you mean the board inside the printer?
Yes. Sounds like a bad power supply but just a guess.
I hope it is the power supply, and not the printer. Thanks again!!
I have heard others using an old xbox 360 supply. If you RMA it they will replace it with the same unreliable one.

The probable cause of the power supply turning off when the printer is turned on is that the power draw is too high. This can be a short in the printer or something wrong with the power supply so it can not source enough current. I would vote for the printer having a short somewhere. Try disconnecting different parts of the printer (while it’s off and then turn on the printer). For example, unplug the heater (if you have one on that model) and see if the power supply light turns off. Without damaging anything by cutting wires or unsoldering parts, you should be able to narrow down where the problem is.
Oh ok, so is this a common thing with this printer?
I will give it a shot. I dont know much about these sort of things but I took the power supply to an electronic store and the guy at the store was measuring the current or voltage on the power supply. He told meThat the readings on the machine he was using mesure was giving double the amount of 12 volts. All i know is that he said it was weird that this was happening.
I have a xbox 360 power supply, but it says its a 12v 15amp and the printer is 12v 10amp…should i still use it for the printer? Thanks
Probably would be ok. If those specs are what I am assuming then it is telling you the output is 12V and up to 15 Amps. Probably good to check with others also to feel safe about it.
Hey guys, its been awhile! Well just wanted to come here and say that I fixed the problem. Turns out it was the power supply. I bought a better one and no problems with it so far. Thanks for your help you guys!
My power supply is bad as well but out of warranty. What type of power supply did you replace yours with?
