Hi Guys,

trying to printer with the CTC Bizer on default settings standard with PLA at 230 degrees. Just getting really poor results? Using Makeware 2.4…

New to this game so any help would be appreciated.

Attached are some pics.

Thanks

Too hot for one and probably under extruding. PLA at 190-210 generally. Also probably need to slow down. 2000mm/min maybe and stick with a .2 layer height for now.

Also would recommend finding a different slicer. Maybe Cura, Slic3r or Simplify 3D (costs). Do a google and see what people with these printers are having good luck with.

I would agree that the printer temp is too hot. From experience, these printers out of the box don’t print very well. Also, they don’t accurately record the temps. For PLA I would suggest between 190-215. I run mine at 215 and it prints lovely. Also, make sure your print bed is level. When leveling it heat the printer up and let is sit hot for about 5-10 mins, then run the leveling procedure. Once done run it again and then again and then a few more times. Each time the adjustments needed will be smaller and smaller until it is perfectly level.

For the print bed, I run mine at 60 with a glass bed. With the blue tape I used to use I ran mine at 50 and prints were sticking well.

As for the quality, you are getting run at .2 layer height for now, slow the prints down and run small test prints like a calibration cube or something similar. I am not familiar with the software you use as I use Simpliy3D and while it is expensive I don’t regret buying it (much)
