I have a model of a vase, technically its a foot, and for a few reasons im trying to print it in 2 halves. The problem is that when i slice the model half in blender then export it as an stl simplify3D is only seeing it as a one sided image. It completely disappears when you look at it from a different angle. Not only that, the areas that it does manage to print it adds another wall and infill. Anyone have any advice on how to fix this so that it will just print this half shell? here is the stl of the half foot https://pixeldra.in/

Maybe an easier solution would be load it in simplify 3d. then sink the part you dont want printed below the bed. Or edit process to stop at certain height.

Autodesk’s Meshmixer is great for splitting files into multiple parts, in particular the “Plate Cut” tool
