Is my printrbot simple metal acting up?

My printrbot simple metal has been perfect ever since i got it. What keeps happening is it pauses for a second every once and a while, continually pauses and pauses. Not sure if it means to do that or something is wrong.

No, you could replace the computer and it might help. A lot of things can cause usb printing to pause randomly. If you cannot avoid it all together by using an SD card or usb flash drive (by a new printer that can) there are some things you can do: USB is quite ancient and still uses hubs which means shared bandwidth in many cases. Unplugging other usb accessories while printing is advisable. Especially unplug and don’t use usb mice and keyboards. Also ensure you have sufficient CPU and memory free. So no playing video games while printing and even high bandwidth web pages on midgrade PCs can slow a system to a crawl.
