So I’ve been really considering a WASP. I’ve always wanted a Delta and after seeing them when they came to Makerfaire NY I was sold. By far best build quality for a Delta on the market.

My only issue is the specs say max temp is 260c. That’s too low for me. I use a specific ABS that prints best at 275c and I’d really not like to have to start buying two brands of ABS for different printers.

So has anyone tested the WASP above 260c? I just can’t really believe a $3500 printer would have such a low max temp.

Thanks,

Josh

hi Josh, yes that’s it!!! The maximum temperature reached is 260°, but the wasp consider the temperature at the tip of the extruder, infact always I printed at temperature average 10 degrees lower than the manufacter recommends, some times 20 degrees lower.

For example: for the almost I print with PLA from FiloALFA, they say about temperature from 190 to 210…and I ever used 180…up to 170

have a good day

Hi Josh, i aree with Mario. I also have a delta wasp and You have to consider 10-15°C Less from the temperature suggested. Have a Nice day  Roberto.

Hi Josh
Yes, extruder temperature max 260 ° C.
The extruder WASP is very efficient, is often used at 10 -15 ° C less than the temperature indicated by the manufacturers of filaments.
Your ABS at 275 ° C it seems strange. Sure it’s only abs and that your current printer reads well the temperature?
I am an Italian official distributors of printers WASP (from January 2016) and also filament already tested on all Delta Wasp, if you want further information, samples of filaments or a quote from a printer write to info@wasp3dprint.it

Hi Josh,

if you like delta cinematics and need to print at higher temps you should consider ATLAS 3D printer.
