I’ve been noticing that my printer seems to have a lot of trouble with infill support. If it is making a line, the line seems to break up a bit in random areas. Oddly enough, everything on the outside is perfect, only the inside is where trouble starts.
Settings:
Monoprice Maker Select V2
100% Flow
200c Temp
50c Bed
40% infill
40 mm/s print speed (usually its 60 but I was seeing if it mattered, doesnt seem to)
120 mm/s travel speed
.8mm wall thickness
.1mm Layer height
I use Cura 2.4/2.5. I don’t know if my settings are normal or not. I have had completed prints but have never opened one to see if the support worked.
Hello Swiffi,
This is a very unique case. I would either suggest to put your layer height to .2mm and try printing. What it sounds like though is you are under extruding, either flow is low or temp is low. Try doing some test prints altering those. I would also try downloading a different form of Cura, just grab lulzbot Cura and transfer your settings over, sometimes software can slice the g-code wrong. Let us know if any of that helped.

I’m not sure if I can do .2mm, the printer’s website says it’s a .1mm resolution and I believe the nozzle can only do .1. Unless I am extremely mis-informed. The flow rate is set to 100% and the temperature is 200c, which seems to be about normal. Do you think I should try 5c increments? What do you print at? is lulzbot better or more reliable? I thought it could be the software but was unsure.
Lulzbot is older - which means more time has been spent on their software. I think your PLA temp should max at 210 and ABS max at 240 if it is not melting right then something is up with the nozzle or maybe its slightly clogged.
Ok, I am going to test Lulzbots Cura and see how it goes. I will be using 205c, 40mm/s. I was comparing the times cura and lulzbot had. Cura was saying a model would take around 4 hours while the exact same model with the exact same settings was going to take only 3 hours on lulzbot.
Any idea on why?
