Has anyone imported a printer to Japan (in my case from the US)? I’m wondering what it will get hit with at the border or if they will even allow it if it doesn’t happen to have PSE certification.
I looked up the tariff schedule. I’m totally not sure but this seems like the right one along with maybe classification 85.43? Which is blank in any case and I’m not sure how to interpret it.
Did you get hit with consumption tax? Based on this I think it will.
I bought a prinbtrbot simple metal from US once. Arrived at my house no problem.
I think it was charged with import tax, around 3000yen.

Hey thanks for posting. That lines up with 5% sales tax several years ago and no other duties.
I have bought ROBO3D from the US, but I had no problem at all. The tax costed about 4000 yen.
